Couples can have their pick of unique spots to say ‘I do’ at their zoo wedding. We love the outdoor areas at Taronga Event Centre for unrivalled views of the Sydney Harbour and its iconic landmarks.
The Bird Amphitheatre has panoramic views of the harbour and can host up to 300 guests who will watch you say your vows surrounded by natural bushland.
For a space that goes straight into celebratory drinks and canapes, the Gili Rooftop has the same stunning views with the added benefit of covered indoor venue space.
Your reception at Taronga Event Centre
There are a variety of event spaces to host your wedding reception at Taronga Event Centre, each one offering sweeping views of the harbour and zoo.
- The Dalang Ballroom is the largest of the reception spaces, with a capacity of up to 250 for dinner and dancing. With floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony, this stunning venue offers the best of this location, with an indoor blank canvas room that’s yours to style.
- Above the ballroom is the N’Galawa Terrace, with a capacity for 150 for dinner and dancing or 200 cocktail-style. Enjoy panoramic views of the zoo and harbour, a private bar and a private bridal suite.
- The Gili Rooftop is a beautiful new outdoor function space that can host up to 90 guests banquet-style or 150 standing for a cocktail wedding.
- Choose one of the three lawn areas dotted throughout the zoo. We especially love the Taronga Zoo Concert Lawns, which can accommodate a cool 3,000 guests for a cocktail event or 350 in a marquee, all with a stunning backdrop of Sydney.

With sweeping views of Sydney’s harbour, the Marquee at Taronga is set in one of Sydney’s most exclusive and unique locations, Taronga Zoo. The custom-built Marquee with a 180 degree view of Sydney’s skyline, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, is available for a limited time only. The silk-lined marquee, with an expansive harbour deck, is the perfect setting for your large-scale celebration. Whether it’s an elegant cocktail party or a large-scale fine dining event, the space offers an extraordinary experience. The marquee will be built with integrated AV and will have access to a full working kitchen.
